Report on Occupation
The occupation for a franklin was a bellatores land owner around the 14th and 15th century. They were a free landowner, meaning they were excluded from paying rent to the ruling monarch. Franklins were born as free men. They owned the land but didn’t tend any work for it other than managing. Laborers were usually the ones to work for the franklin, sometimes even living on the land. They were wealthier than the common man but less so than the higher noble men and the royal family.
